Smokies Bring Christmas Cheer to July with Holiday-Themed Night at the Ballpark |
Fans can enjoy Santa, fireworks, festive entertainment, and support a longtime East Tennessee holiday tradition this Saturday. |

The Knoxville Smokies are bringing a little holiday magic to the middle of summer with their annual Christmas in July celebration on Saturday, July 11, at Covenant Health Park.
The evening promises all the sights and sounds of December, complete with visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday music, themed entertainment between innings, and a postgame fireworks show. Young fans can also enjoy a train ride in the plaza before first pitch, while the first 1,000 guests through the gates will receive a special "Mascot on the Shelf" giveaway.
Adding a meaningful local touch, representatives from the Empty Stocking Fund will also be part of the festivities, helping raise awareness of the annual community effort that provides Christmas gifts to East Tennessee children and families facing financial hardship.
Although December may seem a long way off, organizers say summertime events help introduce new supporters to the decades-old charitable program before the busy holiday season begins.
The game itself features the Smokies taking on the Biloxi Shuckers, with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. Following the final out, fans are invited to remain in the stadium for one of the team's popular summer fireworks displays.
For families looking for something a little different this weekend, Christmas in July offers a chance to enjoy baseball, holiday fun, and community giving—all without the winter weather. |
