Ijams Nature Center will become an enchanted outdoor stage on Saturday, July 11, as Knoxville Aerial Arts presents the Whimsical Woodlands Aerial Circus, a family-friendly performance blending acrobatics, artistry, and the natural beauty of one of East Tennessee's favorite destinations.

The show runs from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., featuring talented local and regional aerial performers showcasing gravity-defying routines on silks, hoops, and other aerial apparatus. Inspired by the charm of whimsical woodlands and Celtic folklore, the performance promises an evening of imagination, athleticism, and visual storytelling set against the forest backdrop of Ijams.

The experience begins well before the performers take to the air. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., giving visitors time to browse an artisan marketplace, enjoy food and refreshments, and explore the grounds before the main event begins. Organizers encourage guests to bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for an unforgettable summer evening under the trees.

Ijams Nature Center has become one of Knoxville's premier destinations for outdoor recreation and community events, making it a fitting venue for a performance that celebrates both creativity and nature. Combining live entertainment with the center's scenic surroundings creates an atmosphere unlike a traditional theater or concert venue.

For families looking for something different this weekend, the Whimsical Woodlands Aerial Circus offers an opportunity to experience world-class aerial artistry in one of the city's most picturesque settings. It's a reminder that some of Knoxville's most memorable summer evenings happen not inside an arena, but beneath the canopy of East Tennessee's forests.
