Downtown Knoxville is preparing for one of its busiest weekends of the summer as Fanboy Expo returns to the Knoxville Convention Center from July 10–12. The three-day event is expected to attract thousands of visitors for a celebration of comics, movies, television, gaming, anime, cosplay, and pop culture.

The annual convention has grown into one of the region's premier fan events, featuring celebrity appearances, autograph sessions, photo opportunities, artist alleys, collectible vendors, panel discussions, and activities for fans of all ages. Whether attendees are lifelong comic book collectors, movie enthusiasts, or families looking for a unique weekend experience, the expo offers something for nearly every interest.

Beyond the convention itself, the event provides a significant boost to Knoxville's downtown economy. Hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and local retailers typically see increased business as visitors explore Market Square, Gay Street, World's Fair Park, and the surrounding entertainment district before and after convention activities.

Residents planning to visit downtown during the weekend should expect heavier-than-normal traffic and increased demand for parking near the Convention Center and World's Fair Park. Arriving early or using public parking garages can help make the experience more convenient.

As Knoxville continues to host larger regional events throughout the year, Fanboy Expo has become another example of the city's growing reputation as a destination for entertainment, tourism, and community gatherings. For one weekend, superheroes, science fiction, gaming, and imagination will once again take center stage in the heart of downtown.
