The 50th Mountain Makins Festival fills the historic Rose Center at 442 West Second North Street in Morristown from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A chili cook-off and barbecue competition are among the Dandridge festival's food-focused attractions.
Further south, the 10th Cherohala Skyway Festival celebrates regional mountain heritage at the Charles Hall Museum in Tellico Plains from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors can expect bluegrass, traditional crafts, wagon rides, living-history displays and activities for younger guests.
Festival admission is free, while designated parking costs $10 per vehicle; the entrance is at 122 Bank Street.
In Pigeon Forge, the Overland Invasion continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Sparks Show is scheduled Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sevier County Fairgrounds, and the Smoky Mountain Knife Works Fall Festival continues in Sevierville.
Sunday, October 25: A Last Chance to Explore
Mountain Makins concludes Sunday at the Rose Center in Morristown, open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday offers another opportunity to meet artisans, enjoy mountain music and explore the festival's fiftieth-anniversary traditions.
The Sparks Show wraps up in Sevierville Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with awards scheduled around 1 p.m.
Both options make an appealing final-day outing without traveling into downtown Knoxville.
Make the Most of the Weekend
Mountain Makins, Dandridge Fall Days and Cherohala Skyway Festival are the strongest choices for readers interested in crafts, history and regional traditions.
Vehicle enthusiasts may prefer the Pigeon Forge and Sevierville events, which offer a different experience from the area's usual autumn fairs.
Plan extra driving time around busy Smokies corridors, take appropriate clothing for changing mountain temperatures and verify the latest admission and parking details before departing.
Event times and activities can change, particularly with weather, so check each organizer's current announcements. |
