Covenant Health Adds Two Medical Helicopters Across East Tennessee |
New aircraft based in Morristown and Rockwood strengthen emergency transport and critical care |

An Expanded Emergency Response Fleet
Covenant Health Air has added two advanced medical helicopters to support care across East Tennessee.
Based in Morristown and Rockwood, the aircraft help connect serious emergencies and rural communities with appropriate hospital resources.
Care in Flight
The dual-engine Airbus H135 T3 aircraft are equipped as flying critical-care units.
Equipment includes point-of-care ultrasound, automated CPR support, capacity to carry whole blood and a system for transporting critically ill newborns.
Crews can care for patients with trauma, heart emergencies, stroke, respiratory problems and other critical needs during transport.
A Regional Partnership
Covenant Health Air operates with Air Methods, combining aviation professionals with specialized clinical personnel.
Teams are available around the clock for eligible scene responses and transfers between hospitals.
The additional aircraft expand resources but do not mean a helicopter is dispatched for every emergency.
What Patients Should Know
Covenant Health says no air-ambulance membership is required.
Emergency personnel coordinate medically appropriate transport based on clinical needs and available aircraft.
Insurance coverage varies, and patients should never delay calling 911 to investigate air transport arrangements.
The expansion represents a practical investment in access to emergency treatment across a geographically diverse region. |
