A Major International Event for Knoxville

Knoxville has been selected to host the headquarters for the World Rally Championship's return to the United States, scheduled August 26–29, 2027.

The championship is returning to America for the first time since 1988, giving East Tennessee a place on a major international motorsport calendar.

Rally crews and fans are expected to use Knoxville as a base while drivers compete on gravel stages across parts of Tennessee and Kentucky.

Where the Action Will Be

World's Fair Park and the Knoxville Convention Center are planned as the team base, service park and fan festival center.

The ceremonial start is expected in Nashville, while the actual competitive stages and detailed itinerary have not yet been released.

Organizers have not announced all ticketing arrangements, final stage locations or the full spectator schedule.

What Rally Racing Means

Unlike a closed-circuit race, rally competition sends cars individually along timed roads or courses, with crews navigating challenging terrain.

Hosting the event could introduce visitors to Knoxville restaurants, lodging, businesses and nearby communities.

Specific attendance and economic-impact figures should be treated as estimates until organizers or local officials publish documented projections.

Watch for Updates

The official championship calendar lists August 26–29, 2027 for Rally US, but marks the precise stages, ticketing and final event map as forthcoming.

Readers can follow later announcements about public viewing areas, traffic arrangements and volunteer opportunities.

The announcement is a milestone for Knoxville, while the full weekend experience will become clearer over the coming months.
