New Chapman Highway coffee shop and community arts space welcomes visitors Saturday with drinks and a vendor market |

A New Gathering Place Opens Saturday
Stone's Throw Coffee is preparing to open Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 3615 Chapman Highway, Suite A, in South Knoxville.
The shop is moving into the former South Press location and describes itself as a community-focused, sober-friendly coffeehouse and arts space.
The first day includes a vendor market, giving visitors a chance to meet local makers while exploring the new business.
What Visitors Can Expect
The announced drink menu includes espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, chai, matcha, tea and hot cocoa, along with a mushroom-coffee option.
The opening-day market is expected to include vendors such as Forbidden Wing Bookshop, Cozy Relief, Roshani Designs, The Oil Well and Within the Oaken Eye.
The owners say employees are trained to take orders in American Sign Language and Spanish.
The business also intends to host artist events, readings, music, workshops and community gatherings as its schedule develops.
Hours and Location
Stone's Throw lists normal hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Sunday, with Tuesdays closed.
The October 31 launch runs during those same daytime hours, and everyone is welcome.
Anyone planning to visit should confirm current parking and accessibility guidance through the shop's website.
A New Chapter on Chapman Highway
The opening fills an existing South Knoxville storefront with another locally operated gathering place.
Its focus on drinks, creative activities and local vendors offers customers a reason to return beyond the first day.
For readers tracking business openings and changes around the 865, this is an opening worth noting ahead of Halloween weekend. |
