Daily Living Center Has Openings for Knox County Adults 60+ |
The CAC Office on Aging program offers licensed adult day services for older adults who benefit from structure, social time, meals, and daytime support. |
Knox County caregivers looking for daytime support for an older loved one may want to know about the Daily Living Center, operated by the CAC Office on Aging.
The center is currently accepting new participants for its licensed adult day services program, according to a notice shared by the CAC Office on Aging. The program is designed for Knox County residents age 60 and older who can benefit from a structured daytime setting while continuing to live at home and remain connected to the community.
Daily programming includes meals, exercise, group games, memory activities, themed celebrations, music therapy, and art therapy. The center’s broader mission is to support independence, strengthen daily living skills, and encourage meaningful social interaction for older adults.
Eligibility requirements include being a Knox County resident, being 60 or older, being able to independently perform basic self-care activities such as eating and toileting, and being able to adapt to a group setting. The Daily Living Center is located at 3900 Probus Road in Northridge Crossing. It operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.–4 p.m., with participants attending from 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
For families, this is a practical Senior Connections item because adult day services can help fill the gap between full-time independent living and more intensive care. A structured daytime program can give older adults social engagement and routine while giving caregivers time for work, errands, appointments, or rest.
Referrals can be made by calling the Daily Living Center at 865-689-8412. The CAC Office on Aging also lists private-pay costs and notes that assistance may be possible for eligible participants through third-party payer sources such as TennCare Choices or the National Family Caregiver Support Program. |
